Catching up

I've been home almost two weeks. I'm taking another week off before I report to my new base.

Once I got home and my family was here, I finally broke down. Too many changes at one time and for a Type A personality that can be a little overwhelming. Ok, actually a lot overwhelming.

Flying halfway around the world.
New job.
New location.
New boss.
New co-workers.
Trying to find a place to live.
Dealing with emotional/physical changes.

It was just too much and I went a little emotional on my mom. Bless her soul, she's amazing. How she does it I'll never know but I'll always be thankful to her for it. I'm lucky to have her as a best friend.

The morning sickness is an all day sickness. And it was kicking my butt. Luckily it hasn't hit in the last 3-4 days. I can honestly say that with the nausea, tiredness, overall ickiness, and mood swings, I'm not enjoying being pregnant right now.

I know it'll get better. And I'm really looking forward to that day.

Until then...

I eat all the time. Small healthy meals several times a day. That seems to help somewhat with the nausea.

And I'm craving french fries with lots of salt.

Oh yeah, give me my french fries.

And tart stuff- lemon cookies, lime koolaid, key lime pie, the list goes on and on.

I get up about 2-3 times a night to pee. That's getting annoying. And that's only gonna get worse. Oh well.

Tomorrow I'm going to invest in sports bras. My boobs don't hurt, they just ache. All the time. I'm hoping a sports bra will help somewhat.

What we women do to populate the world.

Men will never know or understand.

Welcome home, sweetie. I'm sure you wonder at times why you chose to be pregnant. You'll have your answer when you hold those babies. I'm glad you have family support and that you are finding ways to deal with the so-called "minor discomforts of pregnancy" (must have been called that by a man!). My understanding is that nausea related to pregnancy is caused by a spike of the hormones that healthy babies produce. 2 babies= higher levels= more nausea. It should get better at about 16 weeks. I hope that you'll enjoy your new posting and co-workers. If not, screw them (not literally). You'll only be in for a little while more before you retire. You can put with anyone and anything for a short time.
Thanks for checking in.

Well.
I am not the one you want to talk to about pregnancy.

Pregnancy sucks.

Of course there are 'neat' things about it, 'neat' like poking a snake with a stick -- gross, scary, invigorating, scary, gross, scary, gross.... See the pattern?

And the weight gain. Oi-vay. Try TRY TRY not tolet it get to you. You're still so early...

Preganancy is NO JOKE. Write me if you wanna chat and I can call you. I have some good advice/remedies, but don't want to post them all!
